One of the most important thing before you read and see the stuff on this web site you must know a few facts about things you see on TV.
1.Silencer: On most movies they show silencers or in better terms suppressors. These are very good for the ears. But in TV they are quiet a little too quiet, if you have ever heard a real one you would understand. But most movies show them make almost no noise and silencers are about as big as cigar tubes and sometimes shorter. Really they are usually about 10-12 inches long and 2-3 inches wide depending on caliber. They sort of sound like really loud paintball guns. On pistols they won't even work the action and eject the cartridge! So it is only a single shot weapon. You who see alot of tv say that it isn't possible. The gas coming from the fired cartridge works with a set of baffles in the suppressor and makes it quiet. So much gas poring into the suppressor that it will not work the action. You must also have a threaded barrel to screw a suppressor on and sometimes the movies will show someone putting one on a non-threaded barrel. You also can not put a suppressor on revolvers. They have them but they cover almost the whole gun and I know they don't show that in the movies. You can not screw a suppressor on and even if you could there is a gap between the barrel and the cylinder so the gas poring into the suppressor wouldn't work wouldn't work and would probably make there to be more recoil.
2.Bullet proof Vests: In most movies it will show someone being shot with a bullet proof vests and he will jump back as if he was kicked. It is your reaction and not the bullet itself that knocks you down. The amount of recoil on the gun fired is the same amount of force that is taken by the person being shot.
3.Machine guns or automatic weapons: In mostly all action movies they are in there somewhere. They are not as accurate as one might think it is not just spray and they all die. It jumps so much and spits them so fast you can't aim. It is also a waist of ammo. Slower controlled fire is what you should be going into battle with. You can kill more and also have more ammo. Machine guns are only in my opinion good for rocking and rolling. A real fighter will chose a semi auto. It also only takes a few seconds to unload a high capacity magazine. In the movies it takes them forever and they still won't reload!
4.Exploding gas tanks: In movies it will show someone shoot a car and it explodes into a ball of flames but really it can't happen. So next time you see that you know the truth. The only way is to put a torch behind a gas can and shoot it and it will then burst into a ball of flames. When you shoot a car and in movies they will always explode. Totally untrue sparks are caused when metal hits metal but the full metal jacket is stripped when it enters the body of the car so unless you have a NATO steel core round or an AP bullet or a tracer it isn't going to happen and even if you do there is a slim chance. So if you see a car explode in the movies because of a bullet hitting it don't believe this is true.
In 1994 Clinton and his collegues passed the so called "Crime Bill". It bans the import and manufacture of certain weapons that now are illegal unless for law enforcement or military except what is left from before the ban. This is wrong and against the 2nd amendment. He has banned any detatchable magazine (clip)that holds more than 10 rds. and many military type semi-auto rifles and pistols. Such as the Ar-15(rifle) and AP-9 (pistol).I have spoken to many people about the ban and many of them say it was good and that criminals shouldn't have these weapons and that we (law abiding citizens) should give up the right so that criminals won't get them. HAH! If you haven't noticed criminals get them anyway even when banned. My countrymen, ever since the first time someone in our government regulated guns crime has increased. The guns aren't the problem it is the people. Our country is letting its leaders get away with far too much. Tell President Clinton what you think about this National Rifle Association
